Stewarts Production Adventures Yr1

Learning how to be good at production

Workshop 1: Safety

Today we were talked through safety information that we already know, but still have to go through anyway for legal reasons. Stuff I didn’t know was that there was a section cut off from the rest of the working area, so people can get by safely. However some people including actors in bare feet during a performance, cut through and walk in the working zone to save time. However they could stand on something sharp that some well meaning individual left lying around and have an injury.

  1. If you take something, put it back.
  2. Wear safety stuff like what’s above. Do they have helmets? I’ll put it down just incase.
  3. You need to be supervised by a member of staff when using machinery, but not when you’re not using machinery.
  4. Lift stuff with your legs, not your back.
  5. You need to book to use the scene dock.
