Stewarts Production Adventures Yr1

Learning how to be good at production

LX 4: Digital Multplexing

Previously I learnt about static lanterns. Now moving lanterns

  • The lighting desk can send up to 512 signals. If you need more then you need to give the new ones an address.
  • The lighting desk sends the signals to the dims and to the lanterns.

Moving Light

For example if this lantern used channels 101 – 120, then 101 would be the start address. The start address or address is the first channel it uses. It knows that the next ones are also exclusive to it.

1 channel could be to spin the colour wheel

1 channel could be to change the gobo

1 channel could be to spin the gobo

etc.

Putting it on channel 1 for 5 seconds turns it off.

We all had a go at using the remote. we could put the lights to 0%, 50% and 100%.
